Actually, this technology already exists in most all modern SOHO routers. The way it works right now is that the administrator can custom configure the radio power level to limit the range of the wireless signal. This is usually implemented at the edge of a perimeter in order to limit the range beyond the walls of the building (ie. prevent the wireless signal from being accessed from the parking lot). Another implementation of this in modern routers allows routers to automatically adjust the radio power level to limit or eliminate the interference with other wireless devices in close proximity that are operating on the same channel.
